Note: Although gold in and of itself is a great conductor, we are not recommennding gold plated plugs as they are just for looks. All gold plated instrument plugs are nickel plated underneath so the gold adheres well and looks shiny. Technically that extra layer just colors the signal. It's all cosmetic.
