All of the outputs on the Pedal Power 2 Plus (and the
original Pedal Power) are completely isolated allowing you to create different
voltages. You can run effects like the current MXR Flanger by combining
two 9V outputs to create a single 18V supply. By switching two outputs
into 12V ACA mode, you can join them together to create a 24V output for
powering numerous Electro-Harmonix stomp boxes including the Deluxe Memory
Man.

There are
two main types of Boss pedal effects, which specify either PSA or ACA
type power supplies. Boss pedals specifying the PSA type adapter operate
at 9V like most other pedals. Boss pedals which specify the ACA type adapter
operate at a higher voltage. The Voodoo Lab Pedal Power is the only universal
power supply available which will power any type of Boss pedal effect.
There is a selector switch for each DC output on the bottom of the Pedal
Power to select the correct voltage. Output numbers 1 thru 4 can be selected
for "ACA" type operation. For Boss Twin pedals, use outputs
5 or 6 at the "normal" setting that offers 200mA+ @ 9VDC. An
exception would be the RC20 Looper that only draws 80mA so it can use
any of the outputs set to "normal".
Use any output
on the "normal" setting to power Line6 Tone Core compact pedals.
Only modeling pedals DL4, MM4, AM4, DM4, and FM4 require outputs 5 or
6 using the Line6 dip switch setting. For the Line6 POD, see Pedal
Power AC.
In a test by Voodoo Lab, outputs 5 and 6 at the normal setting will power
an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail. The EH adapter for that pedal offers 500
mA, and when they asked the folks at EH about it they told VL it draws
300 mA. But in testing one that VL got "off the shelf" at a
local shop, it only drew a hair over 200 mA and powered up from output
5 of the PP2+ with no problems.
Most will operate with a reversed polarity cable using the Pedal Power
2. The MuRF (MF-105, 105B) may not be compatible however we've known
clients use those just fine. Keep in mind you may use the
AC outlet on the rear of the Pedal Power 2.
Power transformers create an electric field that can cause
hum and noise in your effects. Some effects, such as wahs, are particularly
susceptible to this. A toroidal transformer has a specially designed core
that greatly reduces this electric field. The Pedal Power uses this type
of power transformer so that your pedal board is quiet.
Each output on the Pedal Power 2 Plus is short-circuit protected. This
means that if you have a short in a power cable, or one of your pedals
malfunctions, PP 2 Plus will temporarily turn off the power to that pedal.
All other outputs will continue to function normally with no long-term
damage.

The power supply on this page is a 120V (50-60Hz) North American
version and it's manufactured to operate from that specific main
supply voltage. There are three different models, which accept 100V,
120V, or 240V mains. All units sold in North America are for 120V
only. You cannot operate a 120V Pedal Power using 240V power without
the correct step down transformer. The supply voltage is marked
on the bottom of the unit. If you need a 100V or a 240V version,
check for an international dealer in your region here.
If there is not a dealer in your region, contact
us and we may be able to arrange a special order.

AMAZING TONE STARTS HERE!
"I've wrestled with various store-bought and custom-made
power supplies over the years, but this was the first time I was able
to connect everything in minutes and get great results without hum or
profanity" -Guitar Player Magazine
Pedal Power 2 Plus does it, and does it well, because anything less will
degrade your pedal’s performance. Players everywhere upgrade to
Pedal Power 2 Plus because it powers what conventional power supplies
can’t. Pedal Power 2 Plus is hand made in the U.S.A., comes complete
with cables, detachable AC power cord, a 5-year warranty, and simply makes
you sound better!
POWERING PEDALS IS EASY.
MAKING THEM SOUND GREAT ISN’T.
Ground loops cause hum and the solution is to break the unwanted ground
path. Isolation is the best way to do it. Unlike other power supplies,
Pedal Power 2 Plus isolates EVERY output. This eliminates tone robbing
interaction between units. Now you can properly power everything from
vintage overdrives to modern digital marvels that others just can’t!
A typical transformer, like those used in a wall wart, creates a large
magnetic field that causes hum in any audio path near it. Pedal Power
2 Plus uses a custom designed ultra-low noise toroidal transformer with
separate balanced windings for every output. Now even the most sensitive
pedals can be dead quiet.
What’s good for charging a cell phone is NOT good for your pedals.
While digital switching power supplies are small and inexpensive, they
also generate unpredictable transients and extraneous noise. Pedal Power
2 Plus uses an audiophile quality linear supply for consistently stable,
clean and pure power.
We carry a vast selection of both stock and
custom power cables to support the Pedal Power series. Stock cables included
with the PP2+ are pictured below. A few samples of the many
custom cables are pictured to the left. For more, please see Custom
and Stock Cables for the Pedal Power 2. These include custom lengths,
plug types, polarities, extensions, right angles, ground lifted Y-cables,
double voltage cables and longer IEC detachable AC power cords. We can
also make extra long or specialty cables for certain applications.

With each one of these four outputs delivering 100mA, you can easily power
any 9V battery-operated pedals. Boss pedals that specify the PSA adapter
operate at 9V like most other pedals. Boss pedals that require the ACA
adapter operate at 12V which can be selected via switches underneath the
Pedal Power 2 Plus. Any one of these outputs can be individually selected
to run at 9V or 12V.
These two outputs each deliver 250mA allowing you run high current draw
effects like the Boss DD-20 Giga Delay or Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler. Via
switches underneath the Pedal Power 2 Plus, these two outputs can be separately
configured for regulated (Boss Twin Pedals) or unregulated (Line 6 Modelers)
power allowing you to run both units if so desired. These outputs can
also power any standard 9V effects as well.
These outputs each have 100mA of power available and also allow you to
SAG the voltage from roughly 4V to 9V. This feature can be enabled via
the bottom panel switches. The SAG control is mostly useful for transistor-based
fuzz, octavia, and distortion circuits, as most modern opamp designs are
minimally affected by variations in supply voltage. We recommend turning
SAG off if you’re going to run digital pedals like delay, chorus,
and reverb.
